About Me

I am an accredited BACP counsellor and psychotherapist, offering counselling, supervision, and consultancy. As a Muslim woman and Arab therapist, my identity and lived experience meaningfully inform my work. I understand the complexities of culture, faith, migration, belonging, and family life, and I am deeply committed to anti-oppressive, relational practice. My aim is to foster inclusive, thoughtful, and ethically grounded environments in which clients and supervisees feel genuinely respected and understood.

Alongside my private practice, I am a Senior Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy, teaching at both undergraduate and master’s levels. I design, deliver, and assess counselling training programmes and serve as an External Examiner for postgraduate programmes. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor, supporting practitioners and trainees in developing reflective, ethical, and confident practice.

I hold a PhD in Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies, and my research has explored culturally responsive and relational approaches within therapeutic practice. My academic and research work ensure that my clinical and supervisory practice remains reflective, evidence-informed, and engaged with ongoing developments in the profession. I am committed to bridging research and practice, ensuring that my work with clients and supervisees is both grounded in lived experience and informed by contemporary scholarship.

Clinically, I have worked across diverse settings, supporting adults, young people, and families experiencing trauma, displacement, anxiety, depression, and complex relational challenges. I offer therapy in English and Arabic, allowing clients to speak in the language that feels most authentic and safe for them. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and centred on building safe, trusting therapeutic relationships.

At the heart of my work is the belief that healing and growth happen within safe, trusting relationships. Whether you are seeking therapy, supervision, or consultancy support, my intention is to work alongside you with care, clarity, and professionalism—holding space for exploration, challenge, and meaningful change.
